Press Release 2015 06 27 Culmanic Parts A Christian Science Fiction novel with an Irish flavour Arjay Books and Writers Exchange E-Publishing International announce the publication of Culmanic Parts, award winning author Rick Sutcliffe's seventh Irish Christian science fiction/alternate history novel and the first in a new series called The Throne, the final book of which will also conclude his (currently) six-book series The Interregnum, a three-time award nominee/finalist and winner of the EPPIE for best electronically published Science Fiction novel of 2003. Here is the official Press release:
TITLE: Worlds of the Timestream: The Throne, Book 1: Culmanic Parts
The prologue tells the early eleventh century story of Brian Boru's rescue by Cormac Meathe and Catherine Neal at Clontarf, and the subsequent elevation of Cormac and Catherine to the throne. All the King's Horses tells of a fourteenth century horse girl descendent of Catherine--Kate the Culmanic, who helps kick off the scientific and industrial revolution and likewise becomes High Queen. Mother's Girl tells the early life of fifteenth mystery woman, prodigy, and national heroine Amy Rea, adopted daughter of super-spy Carlan Rea, who renames the Culmanic "Science" and makes it her own, who with nine unlikely friends takes the Royal Academy at Tara by storm, suffers profound betrayals, then joins the Royal Army Naval Corps. Who is she, why is she The Mother's Girl, and why have the Assassin's Guild accepted three contracts on her life?
PRICE: $4.99
Sutcliffe's fiction appeals to fans of (and reviewers have favourably compared it to) C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. It incorporates a Christian world view into a story where a high-tech society has developed very differently from ours. This is soft science fiction, sword but not sorcery, good clean reading, and an exciting, fast-paced page turner. Formerly a high school teacher, Rick Sutcliffe is currently Professor of Mathematics and Computing Science at Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C. His previous work includes a computer programming text, newspaper and magazine columns, lectures and a text on ethical and social issues in technology, and numerous published articles and papers. He has been involved in national and international standards work, and is also the co-inventor of R10, a new, modern programming language based on Modula-2. He lives with his wife Joyce in Bradner, BC Canada. Culmanic Parts is priced under five dollars for a download and is available in electronic form from Writers Exchange E-Publishing and fine e-book retailers, including Amazon. Second and Third books in the series, Rea's Blood or Navy Girl, and Tara's Mother are expected later in 2015. The final novel in both The Throne (Book 4) and The Interrregum (Book 7) is entitled The Paladin, and is expected to be finished for publication in early 2016.
