A Christian Science Fiction novel with an Irish flavour
The nexus is over, but Lucas has lost the new Earth. Mara is trying to clean up from the MacCarthy attack on Tara and prepare for the second battle of Glenmorgan. Roger Hyland builds railways on earth, underwater and in space, but cannot discern spiritual realities. Lucas ought to be the next builder but doesn't want the job. Former Bishop Desmond ought not be in charge of anything, but wants to be king. Red Foster isn't sure who he is, but people have big plans for his life, until he does see spiritual realities. The original builder has an all too inquisitive daughter who forces the truth out of him, and we learn about the first three nexii from him.
Arjay Books announces the publication of The Builder, Rick Sutcliffe's sixth novel in the award winning Irish Christian science fiction/alternate history series The Interregnum and a sequel to The Peace, The Friends, The Exile, The General, and The Nexus.
The Builder continues the story of Mara Meathe following the gas attack on the palace at Tara through her engagement to be marries, her disgrace and defection to the MacCarthys after the murder of Rhiannon, and the shocking aftermath.
Meanwhile, the MacCarthys plot an even greater destruction of Tara, one they have had in waiting for many years. Can Roger Hyland and his friends stop them before it is too late? Can they survive the attempt to stop them?
Roger 's own story takes us around the world and into space, as he first tries to make a name for the engineers and the flyboys, faces down one crisis after another, then must deal with the hardest of all--his own spiritual battle. His once friend and betrayer Res Foster has a struggle with his own demons, and must take a side trip to earth and nearly be killed to respolve them.
Formerly a high school teacher, Rick Sutcliffe is currently Professor of Mathematics and Computing Science at Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C.
